Mauritians studying at London Metropolitan University face deportation, is it fair?

Out of 2000 overseas students, 100 of them are from Mauritius. The UK Border Agency have revoked the licence of the London Metropolitan University because it was not conforming to the regulations for enrolling overseas students.

This means all visas issued by that institutions are now invalid and the overseas students who paid for their courses there will be deported unless they get enrolled somewhere else within a month.

Do you think it's fair?

Immoral and Irresponsible. That's what the UK Border Agency is. Should have checked the visas well when they arrived. The stress and depression of the students will surely crush their hopes for a while.

However, other institutions will surely accept the students as UK universities are actually in a financial crisis.

Seems the Met Uni is at fault for not following directives. The "legal" students are not at risk, student visas will be respected but they may have to move to other universities.

Too many people try their luck as well - enrol in a college/uni but not really for studying but mostly to get the visa to work in the UK. Even after a year, the money they've made is enough to cover the all expenses and have a decent saving. I remember someone working 100 hours a week when you're only allowed to work 20 hours max per weeek.

something must have gone wrong for UK Border to act like this, but it is the responsibility of the Met Un to properly check and follow all procedures and reject illegal papers when applications are made. It's is unfair now to deport the overseas students, Met Un should be answerable and seats should be found for them
